Research These are the areas of research that I will be focusing on and using to immerse myself further into my characters shoes and his motivations. This research will help me have a better understanding of the plays setting and the context surrounding the play which will aid in making creative decisions in the set design  and the lighting effect to highlight key themes such as: Racial issues 1960s   Itallian Mafia 1960's New York, Bronx  Interracial relationships  Bibliography Primary Sources https://www.splcenter.org/fighting-hate/extremist-files/ideology/ku-klux-klan race-relations-1960s https://www.pbs.org/black-culture/explore/interracial-marriage-relationships/ http://yesthebronx.org/about/history-of-the-bronx/ https://www.thoughtco.com/common-problems-interracial-couples-have-faced-2834748 https://www.history.com/topics/crime/mafia-in-the-united-states http://www.baas.ac.uk/usso/black-history-month-post-all-englishmen-

Review

Through the past 11 units I have showed substantial progress , gaining more knowledge , experience, skills contributing to me having a  wider understanding on how to apply these skills and knowledge to my work as well as my career in the professional world. I've successfully made achievements in attaining my goals of having a memorable performance and have lasting impressions on audiences using the skills I've developed throughout the past 11 units. The new skills I've attained are stage presence , which has helped me make my performances more immersive by having a environmental awareness and using the space instead of being at one part of the stage . I've also attained analytical skills and developed better collaborative skills by working a lot with my class mates and always having a creative input contributing to the success of our productions. This course has also helped in developing my  improvisation skills, observation skills and body awareness. These skills were

Evaluation

Evaluation of Final performance I performed my final production on Tuesday the 13th of May 2019. I felt proud of the work I produced on my own and grateful of those fellow actors that agreed to help me in my aim of telling a compelling story. Without the help of Abdul and Jeremy my performance wouldn't of met the heights I hoped and planned for but luckily I had their god given help which propelled my performance to be a great one. Despite their being previous complication with the tech in my piece I was little worried during the performance that my tech wouldn't be at the level I imagined but everything went as rehearsed and how I imagined it  apart from the car crash scene at the beggining where the crash sound effect wasn't as loud as it was  supposed to be, however Jeremy and I carried and used are facial expression and body language to show something traumatic has happened. Apart from that the tech thought the play was amazing and how i imagined it , meaning  th

Planning and Production

Planning and Production for  The Bronx Story  Process log   I spent a lot of my time planning the production at home as I felt because I was doing a one man play I had full creative input and could get things done in my own pace. This will be evident in my diary log where Ill be logging the process on how I plan my production leading up to the performance.  Week 1 I started reading through the play online to achieve familiarity with the narrative and the lines . This was important in order to try and  have a good  understanding of the basis material,  I  also wanted to see how it was theatrically performed because  I've  never heard of a one man play, so  I watched snippets of Chazz performing the one act play on Youtube.  Week 2 I chose areas of research that I will use to help me with my portrayal on contextual historical accuracy to immerse myself in the world of my character , perfecting my performance. Calegero is influenced by the local Mafia s

Project Concept

Concept for The Bronx Tale  The Bronx Tale is the play that I have chosen to perform as my final production. The Bronx Tale is mainly focused on the Father and Son like relationship between two main protagonist , Calegero and the Italian Mob Boss Sonny. Taking  place in the 1960's Bronx , written by Chazz Palminteri. My Aim for this production is to create a piece of theatre that will be action packed with lights and sounds in order to convey a deep contextual meaning on the socially turbulent 1960s, as well as playing believable and contextually convincing characters in order to put together a roller coaster of traumatic experiences seen in the eyes of Calegero to make piece of drama that will be memorable to audiences.   I would like for the production to be both dramaticaly and contextually believable  focusing on the key themes like racial tension but yet be  slightly unrealistic.  I feel that ,since the play is essentially one large roller coaster of  traumatic
